Game Overview
Siguru is an engaging card game designed to teach players about cybersecurity concepts. Played in teams, it encourages collaboration and communication while learning about cyber threats and defenses.
Teams: Play in teams of two, competing against another team.
Levels: The game features three levels of difficulty to accommodate all skill levels:
- Level 1: Basic attacks everyone should know about.
- Level 2: More sophisticated attacks.
- Level 3: Advanced and sophisticated attacks.
How to Play
Setup
Each team starts with seven Term Cards and three Action Cards.
- Term Cards: Contain terms related to cybersecurity attacks and defenses.
- Action Cards: Special cards used to perform actions before, during, or after a round. Each card can only be used once unless specified otherwise.
Gameplay Structure
The game consists of matches, games, and rounds:
- Match: Typically consists of two games.
- Game: Each game has three rounds.
- Round: A 60-second session where one player explains terms while their teammate guesses.
Rounds
Each game has three rounds, each with a unique way of explaining terms:
- Round 1 - Describe Differently: Explain the term using different words without saying the term itself.
- Round 2 - Explain the Attack: Describe how the attack works without naming the term.
- Round 3 - Explain the Defense: Describe how to defend against the attack without naming the term.
Scoring
Points: Earn one point for each correctly guessed term.
Winning: The team with the highest total points at the end of the match wins.
Progression
Begin with Level 1 cards to familiarize everyone with basic terms. As players become more comfortable, gradually introduce higher-level cards to increase the challenge.
Tips for Progressing
- Add Gradually: Introduce a few higher-level cards each time to avoid overwhelming players.
- Mixed Levels: Teams can play with different levels of cards, allowing players of varying skill levels to enjoy the game together.
- Adjust Action Cards: Use more or fewer Action Cards to control the game's intensity. For a focus on learning terms, you might skip Action Cards entirely.
Making the Game More Challenging
- Face-Down Action Cards: After viewing, place Action Cards face down and activate them by flipping over. This adds intensity and requires more focus.
- Increase Difficulty: Incorporate Level 2 and Level 3 cards to challenge experienced players.
The main goal is to learn and have fun, so feel free to adjust the game to suit your group's preferences.
